Killer Home Workouts with Kettlebells - No gym needed

As you probably know from my newsletters, I'm a HUGE fan of training at home with kettlebells.

While I'll never give up my gym membership, because I still also love training with barbells and dumbbells...

Using kettlebells at home gives me more variety into my routines and also allows me to squeeze in insanely intense workouts in as little as 15-30 minutes on those days when you don't feel like committing to a full trip to the gym.

As a matter of fact, I just bought my 2nd 70-lb kettlebell last week, so now I have two 53's and two 70's to throw around in my garage and fun with.

Here's a new article with some more info about training at home with kettlebells and a sample workout

Delicious New Fat-Burning Healthy Snack

I happened to be mostly out of food last week and hadn't made it to the grocery store yet, so I thought of this really super-quick and super-healthy snack idea based on a few random things I had laying around the house...

I threw a couple things together really to just get a quick snack to satisfy my appetite, but I turned out LOVING this little fat-burning recipe!

What I did was throw about 1 tbsp of virgin coconut oil in a skillet and started heating it. Then I sliced up an apple and diced the apple into cubes and threw it into the coconut oil to soften up in the skillet.

Then I just added some cinnamon (a super-potent antioxidant) to the mix and threw in a handful of chopped pecans and some organic raisins and tossed the mixture around in the pan for about a minute to let everything soften up.

After that, I cracked open 1 whole egg and dropped the egg into the mix and quickly scrambled it around to mix into the apple, nuts, and raisins. I really only added the egg because I wanted to get a little extra protein and healthy fats, but it turned out to be a great addition to this recipe!

After about 30 more seconds of scrambling the mix around, the egg had cooked a bit, and the apples and raisins were soft, and it was ready.

I gotta tell ya... this was an incredible (and healthy) snack! It really satisfied my appetite and only took about 2-3 minutes to make.

I loved it so much that I ended up making this as my mid-day "mid-meal" almost every day last week between lunch and dinner.

Hope you enjoy it if you give it a try!

Just to recap, this was all that was involved in this healthy snack:

1 egg
1 apple
1 handful of chopped pecans
a small handful of organic raisins
a hefty sprinkle of cinnamon
1 tbsp of virgin coconut oil (healthy fat source)

1 More Fat-Burning Snack Idea

This is a great healthy snack that I use a lot of times at night, when I want to be a little more conscious of not overdoing the carbohydrates. I would categorize this as an official "Lean-Body snack".

Wild smoked salmon with fresh basil leaves and avocado on cucumber slices! Even throw a couple capers on there if you're into that.

So simple... yet a perfect late night snack since it's mostly good quality protein, healthy fats, and a vegetable. It's also a great healthy appetizer if you have guests over.

Just make sure to choose WILD smoked salmon since farmed salmon meat is not as healthy due to the feed that the salmon are given, throwing the omega-6 to omega-3 ratio out of whack.

A Weird and Overlooked Superfood - from animals

I know the superfoods we usually talk about are mostly plant-based, such as blueberries, blackberries, green vegetables, pomegranate, goji berries, cocoa, etc.

However, this article below shows a unique and often overlooked super-food that is one of the most nutrient dense foods on the planet:

foods that burn fat

3 vegetables that burn abdominal fat

I bet you didn't know that there is a specific class of vegetables that contain very specific phytonutrients that actually help to indirectly burn off your abdominal fat.

Let me explain what they are and why...

First of all, if you've already grabbed a copy of my new Fat Burning Kitchen Program then you may already know about how certain chemicals in our food supply and our environment, such as pesticides, herbicides, and certain petrochemicals from household cleaners, cosmetics, etc can act as xenoestrogens.

Xenoestrogens are chemicals that you are exposed to that have an estrogenic effect and excess exposure can cause hormone balance disruptions for both men and women. So these can wreak havoc in the body for both guys and gals.

These estrogenic chemicals that we are exposed to on a daily basis can stimulate your body to store belly fat, along with many other problems.

So here's where this specific class of vegetables comes in handy...

One of those cool tricks that I teach in my Fat Burning Kitchen program is that cruciferous vegetables such as broccoli, cauliflower, brussels sprouts, kale, cabbage, etc. contain specific and unique phytonutrients such as indole-3-carbinol (I3C) that help to fight against these estrogenic compounds...

And by fighting against these belly fat stimulating estrogenic chemicals, this can help you fight against abdominal fat!

So there you go... just another excuse to do what mom always told you and eat more broccoli!

I've really learned to like brussells sprouts in the last year too... Melt a little grass-fed cheese on them and some garlic and they're great!

In case you haven't picked up your copy yet, I give away at least 12 other specific foods, teas, spices, etc that help to combat the xenoestrogens and can help you to burn abdominal fat faster in my new program...

Email this link onto your friends... I bet you'll shock them with this article about xenoestrogens and how broccoli, cauliflower, and brussels sprouts can help to fight the battle against abdominal fat.

2 super-healthy fat-burning recipes

This is one of my favorite healthy dinner recipes! ...also a breakfast idea below.

If you've never tried spaghetti squash, it's delicious and it's also a great alternative to pasta, since it's much higher in nutrient density and MUCH lower in carbohydrates. So you get MORE nutrition and less calories and starchy carbs which are just contributing to your abdominal fat.

My favorite way to eat spaghetti squash is to bake it and scoop the spaghetti like textured squash out and then top it with tomato sauce with veggies mixed in, and grass-fed bison sausage. It's a great healthy dinner that's so much lower in carbs than eating a belly-stuffing plate of pasta.

If you've never baked a spaghetti squash before, it's simple... you just cut in half, take out the seeds, and lie the cut sides down in a big baking dish, and then put about an inch of water in the bottom of the pan. cover and bake around 400 or so for about 75-90 minutes depending how big the squash is.

Then you just use a fork to scoop out the squash and it comes out in spaghetti-like strands.

My 2nd favorite use for spaghetti squash:

Now you've had your spaghetti squash, sauce, and bison sausage dinner and you still have tons of leftover spaghetti squash.

Perfect! Now you have a great healthy breakfast by throwing a layer of spaghetti squash into a pan with some virgin coconut oil and cooking scrambled eggs into the squash. I tried this a couple weeks ago and was blown away how good it was! This was my favorite breakfast for at least 3 days in a row while I finished the leftover squash.

I just added a bunch of seasonings to the eggs and spaghetti squash mixture and it came out really good. Use your creativity with this one on the seasonings.

I hope this newsletter gave you some ideas to try a few new healthy meals.
