How to Trick Your Body into Losing Weight

I hope you had an amazing holiday season, and are ready to kick some butt and get in the best shape of your life in 2010!

I've been slacking a little on these newsletters over the past couple weeks with being so busy visiting friends and family for the holidays back on the east coast.

I was thinking about an important concept recently about why some people continually fail to get results while others make incredible changes in their body... for example, here's a fairly extreme example of 2 people that have not been able to motivate themselves to lose any weight over the past couple years, even though they say that this is VERY important to them...

What I did was present a 6-month challenge to 2 different people that are close to me back in June of this year to lose a specific amount of weight by Christmas...

I won't go into the details, but I even promised them a VERY special prize if they successfully reached their goal weight. This was something that was fairly significant and would have changed their lives, as well as giving them the confidence back in their bodies, and their health, which were both desperately important to them.

However, it turned out that they never even took action on any of this at all. Neither of them ever really even started on their journey, much less finished it.

This is quite shocking to me that 2 people who so desperately wanted to reach these goals, never even took any action from the very beginning... even though I had given them all of the tools they needed to be successful.

This is something that I think about as a fitness professional a lot... the fact that you can give somebody all of the methods that they need to be successful in weight loss without a doubt, and they fail to take action on anything.

Once again, this gets back to the point that success in anything in life, whether it's weight loss, muscle building, wealth, health, relationships, etc... it all starts in the mind, and if the mind is not ready to make it happen, it's not going to happen!
